Latest COVID-19 Advice 12/03/2020

  • It is important that we are all vigilant however remain calm and not alarmed.
  • There remains just one confirmed case of COVID-19 in the Territory – this person is a tourist visiting Darwin who is currently in Royal Darwin Hospital.  There are no other confirmed cases anywhere else in the Territory.
  • We are receiving regular and ongoing advice from the Australian Government and the NT Health Officer in regards to Coronavirus and making the necessary preparations in line with the advice that we are receiving.
  • A key part of this plan is ensuring that students, staff and families are well informed of any processes that may need to be activated.
  • The key messages are:
    • Maintaining good hygiene practices
    • Keeping students, staff and families informed around travel and the advice that they need to be aware of
    • Ensuring that student, staff and families are aware of where they can seek further advice and support from the Australian Government Department of Health
  • People who are not sick are urged not to seek COVID-19 testing.
  • If you are sick with symptoms and meet the criteria i.e. you have travelled overseas in the last 14 days or have had close contact with a person who has tested positive for COVID-19, then you will be tested.
  • If you are sick but do not meet the criteria – you will not be tested.
